There is no specific Law for protecting trade secrets in Georgia. Legal protection is provided by the Civil Code.
Membership in International Conventions
– Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, Stockholm Act, since January 18, 1994.
– WTO's TRIPS Agreement, since June 14, 2000.
Protection
Definition: there is no legal definition of a trade secret in Georgia.
Assignment - licensing: possible.
Remedies for misappropriation: there is no precedent in Georgia's Courts regarding trade secrets infringements cases.
