General Remarks

Political situation: Parliamentary Republic; a President of the Republic, elected every five years and two Chambers (Chamber of Deputies and Senate), elected every four years.

Economic situation: Romania has a fast developing/emerging, high income mixed economy.

Romania's economy is strongly globalized and integrated into the European Union market. The economy is characterized by a highly productive work. 

The reforms in the 2000s (decade) and its 2007 accession to the European Union have led to an improved economic outlook. The country is a regional leader in multiple fields, such as agriculture, IT and motor vehicles production. Romania's economic growth for 2022 was 4.9%, according to the European Commission (EC).

Exports have increased substantially in the past few years. Romania's main exports are cars, software, clothing and textiles, industrial machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, metallurgic products( steel, aluminum), raw materials (timber, salt), pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, agricultural products (grains, corn, fruits, vegetables, flowers), refined petroleum.
