Protection: as well as local design registration, designs registered in the United Kingdom are automatically protected in Guyana. 

Duration – renewal: five years from date of registration; renewable by two further periods of five years each.

Examination: formal.

Filing requirements for an application (to be sent to resident agent):
1. Application;
2. Power of attorney (not legalized);
3. 3 identical representations or 3 specimens.
