Registration: currently no industrial property legislation is in place in Eritrea. There is no registration of trademarks.

Until 2013, the publication of Cautionary Notices was the only form of "protection" available. However, although the publication of Cautionary Notices is essentially an informal arrangement, they must first be approved by the Eritrean Government. Regrettably, and without providing any explanation, the Government suspended the publication of all notices in 2013, and the publication of Cautionary Notices has not been possible since.
