General Remarks
The Kyrgyz Republic used to be a part of the former Soviet Union. The Republic declared its independence on August 31, 1991. The Patent Department of the Ministry of Education and Sciences was established on June 15, 1993, and is currently reorganized into the State Agency of Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter, Kyrgyzpatent).
